Apparently the NHS Needs Saving

So we’re in the run up to a general election and one of the hottest bullet points on the various manifestos is the NHS. According to one political party we have just a matter of weeks to save the NHS.

Save it from what? The NHS was created in the 1940s, over the 7 decades it has had to adapt and morph as the UK has changed in that time. We’re lucky in the UK we have a free health service, and I believe it will remain free so what exactly needs saving?

My experiences with the NHS, and I have many but thankfully nothing too serious, has been fantastic. None more so that seeing my GP on Friday with a foot problem and a call from the physio today to get me see tomorrow. Wow!

The NHS doesn’t need saving. For the most part it just needs to adapt.
