Fields of Gold – My Sunday Photo for 5th August 2018
Living in the countryside for the last four years has turned us into the farming cycle. Without even seeing a combine harvester I knew that the harvest was starting this July. This field, looking south from the edge of the North York Moors, is one I pass a few times each week when out running my regular trails. I adore the view from here but this time I was tying my shoelace and glace to the right and saw what a great photo I could make.
The value of the crop in this field makes it like gold to farmers. So many have lost entire crops to fires during this heatwave so that make this crop even more precious.
Fields of gold indeed…
