I find this an incredulous promise from a political party who seem to be promising to deliver a lot that they failed to deliver when they were last in government.
My opinion is that class sizes aren’t the issue – failing apps are the issue. We moved from an area and a school that was in special measures at the time but the class sizes are good to a new area and a school rated as “good” by Ofsted. But the class sizes at the new school are huge in comparison to the old school. Yet, despite never having huge concerns about our children’s education at their old school, we’ve seen such an improvement on them over the last few months that it has been truly eye opening.
With a well managed school with good teaching the class size is not a key factor for me. It certainly isn’t going to say me come the May General Election to vote for a Labour party promising the earth.
